National Geographic Magazine was my first glimpse of the world before the onslaught of smart phones, satellite TV, and the internet.
Photography was my avenue to seeing a foreign planet beyond my sight. I picked up my first camera right out of high school, Then moving on to Los Angeles Pierce College I was an assistant photo editor for a couple of terms at the schools newspaper.
After numerous awards, countless hours in the darkroom and what seemed like thousands of rolls of self-developed black and white film later, I went on to study more commercial and fine art photography at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena.
Upon leaving Art Center I worked commercially and managed camera stores and photo labs before progressing to the moving image. Starting with old super 8 cameras then up to HD Video I fell in love with cinema.
